#AllAboutTheSonicsBaby

As my love for music continues to grow, I find myself swept away in the beauty of each component of the process of creating art. Art of all forms, but specifically my personal passion for creating music.

I started writing my own music, experiencing my own journey of self-discovery that allowed me to evolve in my own lane of creating my art. See I believe that music is spiritual, so I use it as my creative outlet when I am experiencing the transformations of life. The journey of discovering who I truly am is what lead to me discovering Tojuso as an artist. Jackie Spade is the artist with the words and that warm and unique Carolina flow, but as Akeem became more accepting of who I am authentically I evolved in my sound. The evolution birthed a union of myself that I used to dream of.

There is so much intention behind this project, this was a project that was for me. No one really knew I was working on it, I think niggas didn’t realize how serious I was about my new passion and love for producing music and exploring the different frequencies and how to use them to make you feel unburdened.

With the instrumentals I always knew it was a matter of time before I started making beats. That shit just used to look like a foreign language to me tho when the homies would be cookin up on FL studio or something so I wasn’t even bout to put my brain through that. Until one random day I got a email about a master class from Spotify and me being my inquisitive self I checked it out and it was about ‘Soundtrap’, a daw that’s been around that I had no clue about. So I downloaded it and played around a bit and the very first joint I made was ‘How Far We’ve Come’ and I was like “oh yea I’m here now!”😂
